I graduated from Morehouse College with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in economics. I earned my MBA from Emory’s Goizueta School of Business with a concentration in strategy and finance. While attending Morehouse College, I was a football player and track athlete. I currently hold three school records in track and field at Morehouse College (outdoor shot put, indoor shot put, discus throw) and was named MVP my senior year.

I am a career consultant and have mostly worked across the public sector and financial services. My formal background is in finance and strategy; however, after a time, I began working in a technical capacity across several system implementations, application enhancements and agile project executions.

I have always enjoyed finding innovative ways to solve a complex problem. I enjoy trying new foods, traveling to new places, and meeting new people, so working in consulting was undoubtedly an excellent fit for me, as with each project, you always face new challenges.

I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn while working at a ‘Big 4’ consulting firm about an opportunity at Capco. What interested me in Capco was its focus on financial services and its strong reputation with financial institutions globally.

The recruiting experience was similar to other interview processes I’ve been through. It consisted of three phone interviews and two in-person interviews. One thing that stood out during the process was the people. Everyone was knowledgeable, down to earth, and helped give me the information I needed to feel comfortable about joining.

Since I have started at Capco, I’ve lead teams and improved my project management skills. Capco is a firm that has high expectations for its consultants and encourages us to develop strong connections with our clients so we become trusted advisors.

Of all of my work here thus far, the project I've enjoyed most was overseeing the delivery of a payment resiliency application. We were helping the client prepare for a catastrophe or major disruption to their business practices and completed the project a year before the COVID-19 pandemic. It feels great to know I helped the client to become better positioned to weather such significant uncertainty.

I am proud to say I am the recruiting lead for on-campus recruiting at Howard University. As a Morehouse grad and an active member of the DC Morehouse alumni chapter, I understand the importance of having a diverse pipeline of candidates that we recruit. When engaging with Howard students, I can share my own professional experience and story.

I also had the opportunity to serve as a panelist at one of our black history events held in DC. It was an excellent opportunity to share my experience with other Capco employees and have a candid conversation around the impact black people have had in business.

Outside of the office, Capco hosts several social events; one fun example was bubble soccer. During the event, I got to run full speed at co-workers encased in plastic bubbles; needless to say, that was one of the most satisfying experiences that I’ve had at a work event!

I have a passion for international development, love travel and new experiences. I am an amateur Highland Games athlete, which requires a year-round commitment to practicing my technique and weight training in the gym.

My passion for international development allowed me to work globally, assisting refugees and farmers across the continent of Africa. These endeavors were brief internship assignments where I worked in South Africa, supporting refugees and Ethiopia, working with farmer co-ops.

As parents of young children, my wife and I don’t travel as much as we once did. Still, we find ways to have international experiences by visiting different embassies in DC, seeing international shows at the Kennedy Center, and trying different global cuisines.
