We are pleased once again to share a selection of Capco’s latest reflections on the evolution of financial services regulation around the world. As we look forward to 2022, and with COVID no longer dominating the corporate agenda (for the time being at least), there is plenty of work on the risk, regulatory and compliance fronts for firms to tackle.
The increased level of letters and enforcement action emanating from regulatory bodies demonstrates that their focus is once more squarely back on compliance. Firms will still be assessing their operating models to determine if they can continue to provide the required support, irrespective of what it has to overcome. Meanwhile the debate is ongoing around how global approaches may benefit the provision of operations and technology services in capital markets and the implications of trending EU and global
policy, which risks driving localization.
In this edition, we put operational resilience, sustainable finance and the ‘lost decade’ for Hong Kong REITs under the spotlight, while also looking at the latest development around key regulations including EMIR, Basel III, Solvency II, NSFR, MiFID II and IFRS 17.
