Client situation
- Tier 1 European Bank, faced with legacy OMS performance and reliability issues, necessitating re-engineering of technology platform for their global (Europe, US, Asia) equity brokerage business
- Capco was invited to assist in major program spanning 18 months with 50+ resources at peak. Specifically to:
Perform the selection of an OMS for the New Order Management System
Design and implement the integration layer, Tibco based, for the Fidessa V7 package front to back
Test the Fidessa OMS customisation as well as the front to back integration in the legacy
Lead major streams of activity
Assist in strategic assements like DMA
Approach
- Phased release schedule in preference to big bang approach to limit risk exposure
- Introduce EAI methodology primarily based on interface agreements with a repeated waterfall based implementation
- Design front to back interfacing of the OMS in the legacy from Fix order input to final settlement in Gloss and Parel
- For the Asian region specific design for Japan and Hong Kong
