Capco role and focus

Andrea Mark Hoffmann is a Partner based in Zurich, where he co-leads Capco’s operations in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. He has deep expertise in all aspects of program, project-management and IT, and has led teams in the design and successful delivery of major transformation programs for leading banking clients.

 

Industry expertise

Andrea has comprehensive experience and expertise in program management, operating models and IT. A selection of client engagements he has played a lead role in includes:

  • Global Benefit Improvement Initiative for a leading Swiss Universal Bank: analysis of benefit levers such as industrialization, labor arbitrage, vendor consolidation, transformation et al. for global front-office IT, evolving the client’s operating model to next level
  • Global IT operating model and sourcing strategy for a large Swiss bank: definition of a Centre of Excellence strategy (to-be footprint, operating model, roadmap, business case) to build a true competency based CoE model
  • Private banking IT assessment (APAC operations) for a large Swiss bank: project management of strategy assessment, operating model transformation roadmap, set-up of strategic PMO, delivering a refocused and re-aligned IT organization
  • Program management (co-lead with client) for credit application development and maintenance co-sourcing program with ca. 90 FTE onsite, ca. 40 FTE offshore

 

Thought Leadership

Andrea is the author of a paper “Der Sonderfall wird im Projektmanagement zur Routine”, published in Handelszeitung, 18.03.2009.

 

Professional background

Prior to joining Capco, Andrea spent his entire career in consulting, beginning his career with PWC in Zurich. He then moved to join Accenture, where he spent over a decade, working exclusively for Financial Services clients. Initially based in Zurich, Andrea spent three years of his tenure based with Accenture in Singapore, where he was responsible for the APAC operations of international Swiss banking clients.

Andrea holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of St. Gallen. During his education, he also spent a year studying in Sweden and in the US.
