CSR at Capco is defined as action which when taken positively impacts our people, customers, suppliers, the environment, and most importantly the communities in which we live and operate.
We apply an employee-led approach to all our CSR activities, empowering employees through leadership support to drive the focus and themes in each Capco location.
Our employees are passionate about making a positive impact and CSR is consistently placed at the top of the agenda. As a result, all of our offices support a myriad of charities and non-profit organizations through a variety of activities.
In North America, Capco supported a total of 41 charities in 2014. This effort was facilitated by a volunteering scheme, and it included employees participating in a run for a breast cancer and several clothes collections throughout the year for different charities.
In the UK, Capcoites have been running a work experience program for students from local schools for a number of years alongside a mentoring scheme in partnership with a non-profit organization to mentor London students through primary school, secondary school and the enterprise challenge. Additionally, a Pro Bono program has been established to enable participating employees to give back utilising their core skills.
In Switzerland, our employees chose to focus on environmental causes by introducing a recycling program in partnership with a local start-up company alongside other activities including fundraising for a children’s foundation which provides entertainment for children in hospital.
In South Africa, employees have supported for a number of years a program, which serves orphaned and vulnerable children, mainly affected with HIV. This has included hosting a fun day for the children and fundraising to support training courses and the purchase of resources for the children’s center.
In Hong Kong, employees dedicate one day per quarter to CSR activities. The team have supported a local foundation which links those in need with those who can provide help. The foundation redistributes a large variety of items donated by the local community to NGO’s in over 90 countries and the Capco team helped with the distribution of goods.
In India, the Capco team partnered with an NGO to support orphans and the elderly through a “gift a wish” program which enabled our employees to select a wish and then work to make it come true for the individual.
All of these local initiatives are in addition to many others which take place throughout the year from the ice bucket challenge in 2014 to Movember and regular blood donations. If employees have an idea or an initiative close to their heart, then they are encouraged to share it and empowered to act.
